What is it?

Biograma is an artistic, open and participatory project based on the creation of an anonymous work composed by different literary and photographic visions that lead to a visual narration focused on the existence of a fictional character.

Biograma generates a collective work consisting of the different points of view of each selected participant.

How is it organizated?

Biograma is organized through different chapters. Each Biograma chapter consists on a biographical account and a selection made of different photographic works sent by participants.

The story is created by a writer chosen by the publisher of Biograma. The writer is responsible for setting the rhythm and the narrative coherence.

The pictures can be taken freely by anyone who voluntarily choose to participate in each of the summoned chapters of Biograma.

Entretantos Collective, as a manager of Biograma, is in charge of evaluating and selecting the different works that finally will make up the collective work.

How to participated?

Biograma participation is open to any person or group and it is free of charge.

The Participants have to send their visual interpretations of the story generated from the summoned Biograma Chapter. All the selected works will become part of a collective work where there is no mention or recognition to individual authors.

Those interested in participating should know the Rules of participation and accept the Participation Agreement.

How does it spread?

Biograma is published, exhibited and distributed through different editions. Biograma editions are shown by Biograma chapters. The edition of each Biograma chapter contains a selection of photographic works which has participated on it, and also the text belonging to that chapter.

The edition of Biograma chapter is limited to a number of twenty.

The spread of the different Biograma chapters is done firstly through the website www.biograma.net. It is also considered the printed edition of catalogs chapters Biogram and exhibitions chapters Biograma.

Biograma Chapter #01

Biograma narrative structure is determined by the different chapters that make up the life of a fictional character.

Each chapter is composed of a story related to a biographical narrative and existential, which present different experiences of the main character and serves as a thread of the project.

Rules of participation

Activities

There are two parallel and complementary activities to the Biograma project: Biograma Session & Biograma Experience.

Both are offered for inclusion in the schedule of different institutions and events: Festivals, Arts Centers, Fairs, Schools of Art or any other institution or event involved in the organization of cultural activities

Biograma Session

Biograma Session seeks to show the nature of Biograma project while proposing a space for reflection on the plurality of visions in contemporary photography creation.

The activity is a theoretical conference dedicated to explore all the details of the project and the concepts that rules it: how it begins, the statement of the project, its purpose, its graphic and literary content, the support and its diffusion. Entretantos Collective offers an extensive and detailed explanation of all the features of Biograma and invites those attending the meeting to participate on it.

Biograma Experience

Biograma Experience is a dynamic activity that proposes to carry out an exercise in both creating and editing photography in order to investigate its own photographic positioning.

Before the meeting, participants are given a text, a short story, which serves as a context for different photo interpretations. Subsequently, during the workshop each participant must bring a selection of 3 to 5 photographs.

With the different visual works and different points of view a practical edition is developed that rises to a collective interpretation of the text and also a unique work: the Biograma Experience Envelope.

Biograma Experience Envelopes contains original copies of 10x15 cm. with photographs of the final edition. Only participants will have a sample of those editions. Biograma Experience Envelopes are unique and have numbered prints for each Biograma Experience event.
